Swimwear that fits! Is that possible?

Girls do you have problems purchasing swimwear that fits properly? Well you're not alone. Over 90% of real women don't conform to a standard size.

Adhoc swimwear and bikini fitments are the norm in a fashion industry that expects you to purchase next seasons fashions whether you need them or not. The European Community is making an effort at addressing this issue with the release of the first clothing sizing standard that fits sizes to dimensions and not some arbitrary mannequin size. It's called EN 13402.

Raunchywear does not use sweatshops

I came across a chilling article at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jonathan-tasini/victorias-secret-slave-_b_74261.html on the use of sweatshop labour in Jordan manufacturing Victoria Secret lingerie. I can't believe people get treated so poorly. An ex boyfriend, who has tested vehicles in the middle east, had previously told me that people from Bangladesh work in very poor conditions in the Arab world.

At Raunchywear all our swimwear is manufactured right here in Adelaide South Australia. We provide contract manufacturing opportunity for home based workers at above market rates. The good pay and the ability to work at home when it is convenient for them means we get consistent high quality products. We also visit their homes regularly to ensure that everything is ok.

Our lingerie supplier informs us that their product is manufactured in China in legal and proper workshops.

The Perfect Fitting Swimsuit

First we need to give you some background on selecting women's clothing. In about 1926 the Berlei company (yes Berlei bras) conducted a study into women's undergarment measurements. Today undergarment measurements are still primarily based on these early measurements. Unfortunately vanity sizing is rife these days where manufacturers have reduced the numerical size of garments while the typical female form has increased in size. To overcome this problem (otherwise how would you be able to select the right sized swimwear over the internet?) we let you select not only your hip and rib measurements but also your coverage measurements.

So what is coverage you ask? Coverage is the vertical measurement that determines how high or low your bikini top or bottom sits. You can now choose between a bikini bottom that is a low sitting hipster up to a higher coverage (we typically call it a Harry High Pants look in Australia) if you are modest or want to cover a scar or blemish. The same goes for swimwear tops where you can decide where the top sits. You can just cover your nipples or more skin as you like.
